Hello! We’re Dexter & Jericha, the teachers & organizers behind Tango del Corazon. We met at San Francisco’s longest-running alternative tango venue in 2014, and we’ve been dancing together ever since. We’ve been lucky enough to study with truly amazing dancers all over the world, most recently Cristian Correa & Miriam Copello of Argentina, and we travel regularly to dance, study, and deepen our commitment to tango.
“Tango del Corazon” translates as “Tango of the Heart” or “Tango from the Heart.” This is our approach to teaching, which focuses on the heartfelt, tender connection that becomes possible between dancers, whether dear friends or complete strangers. We believe that anyone can dance tango, and the joy of dance is central to our lives. It has brought us enduring love, amazing friendships, and many adventures all over the world.

In 2021 it brought us to Siskiyou County, California, where we moved after falling in love with the area during the wonderful Burning Tango Festival held at the historic McCloud Dance Country every June. We are currently located in Ashland, Oregon, where we organize introductory classes, monthly milongas, and occasional special workshops with visiting maestros. The tango community of the Rogue Valley and Siskiyou County is small but mighty, and we’re committed to bringing more opportunities for dancing to everyone in this quiet & beautiful part of the country, whether you’re a local or a visitor.
OUR TANGO PHILOSOPHY: We believe anyone can learn to dance tango, and we are passionate about sharing not only the dance itself but the wonderful social culture, music, and history of Argentine tango.
Unlike many social dances, tango is all about the deep connection and wordless communication between the dancers. But it’s not just a dance for lovers; tango is danced between friends, family members and complete strangers alike. All it takes is an open heart and a warm embrace. It’s danced all over the world, and tango dancers can make new friends anywhere they go! We want you to leave our classes & events feeling that the world is wider and your connections are deeper than you ever thought possible.
