We are traveling until summer of 2025, but there will be lots of lovely events in the Rogue Valley for you in the meantime! We’re very lucky to have two gifted & delightful people taking over our monthly milonga while we’re gone! Your new hosts, Morgan & Marion, are warm and welcoming dancers with lots of experience creating inviting spaces, and Marion is an experienced tango DJ with a great ear for what makes a perfect tanda. We couldn’t ask for better co-conspirators!

Morgan found tango while living in the wilds of Western Massachusetts and never looked back. She enjoys encouraging dancers to explore both leading and following to deepen their understanding of both sides of the dance. She has called Ashland home for over ten years and feels so grateful to be part of the Rogue Valley tango community.

Marion has brought her tango life to Ashland from Paris, where she began DJing in 2012. She is grateful whenever she has the pleasure of playing music for tango events, which gives her the magical feeling of dancing with everyone on the floor at once. She especially loves the way that the variety & complexity of the orchestras and long history of tango gives us the opportunity to create a wonderful diversity of emotions that we get to build together over the course of each night of dancing. One of her favorite tango quotes is “Each tango tells you how to dance it.” She has found the Rogue Valley tango community extremely welcoming and is honored to be able to help keep it dancing!

There is a weekly practica at Samarra’s Studio in Ashland, OR every Thursday from 7-8:30pm. The practica has rotating hosts and is open to all levels. Practica location: 839 E Main St, Ashland (the ground floor studio on the right-hand of the driveway) Please park by the cemetery on Morton to keep the neighbors happy. Cost: $5 at the door, cash or Venmo. We hope to see you there!

Clay & Nancy teach a “beyond beginners” class every Sunday 4-5pm at the Annex in Medford. No partner necessary, all levels welcome! $15 drop-in. Clay is one of the most experienced tango dancers & organizers on the West Coast, and his classes, events, workshops, and festivals have brought many dancers into the warm arms of Argentine tango!
